Motivating Students with Glogster

Glogster

Glogster was created in 2007. Glogster users create interactive posters which are called glogs. There are hundreds of thousands of registered users most of them are teenagers.

Glogster users create interactive posters. Users insert text, images, photos, audio (MP3), videos, and special effects into the glogs. Glogster contains flash elements, that consist of animations. These posters can be shared with other people. Glogs can also be exported and saved to computer compatible formats.

Each visitor can integrate dynamic multi-sensory resources into traditionally text-oriented tasks.

Glogster EDU

Glogster helps teachers provide their students with interactive learning experiences. It is mainly used for elementary and secondary school teachers. Teachers privately register their classes and create a private and safe virtual learning environment. There can be up to 200 users registered.

The settings are controlled by the teacher and she can set limits on who can view the glog.

Glogster EDU is currently being used by more than 150,000 teachers with over 2,000,000 students all around the world.
Glogster has a partnership with school tube. Teachers can post their glogs on school tube .

Presently Glogster is privately funded.
They have received awards for being the fourth most successful web start-up project in 2008 at the Prague Web Expo trade fair.
